I started writing fiction after I became a lawyer. At the time, states were toying with what they called simple English laws. If passed, these laws would've required all legal documents to be written in simple English. To improve my writing skills as a lawyer, I started writing fiction. While nothing ever became of these simple English laws, I did discover that I enjoyed writing fiction. I originally wrote screenplays, mostly romantic comedies, but because screenwriting is such a restrictive format, I eventually switched to novels. I have been a lifelong fan of fantasy and science fiction, so most of my novels tend to fall into the fantasy category, although I will occasionally return to my roots and turn out a romantic comedy.
